Meet Our Counselor

Elizabeth 

Roots and Streams Counseling offers a safe space to improve your mental health. Our counselor, Elizabeth, has more than ten years of experience in mental health. She is a board member of the National Association of Social Workers of Montana and a member of the Association of Oncology Social Workers. Elizabeth is empathetic, kind, and passionate about advocacy. Elizabeth is a Montana native, when not at work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones and spends as much time as she is able in the mountains. 

Elizabeth is based in Bozeman is can see patients in person or via telehealth. 

 

Areas of focus include treating patients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety and works under the supervision of Michelle Pruener through The Anxiety Break.

Elizabeth is also queer allied and enjoys working with patients dealing with serious medical diagnosis or those supporting a loved one with medical challenges. She holds a certification in treating religious based trauma.

Person Center Approach

Person-centered approach empowers clients by providing positive regard, empathy, and validation. It creates a safe environment for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, and encourages them to create positive changes.

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)

DBT helps regulate emotions, manage distress, and change negative behaviors. It's an effective therapy that improves quality of life.

Humanistic Approach

Humanistic therapy focuses the client as a whole and works towards improving the clients whole self. 

Exposure Response Prevention

 ERP is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy used to treat disorders, like OCD. and anxiety.  ERP involves gradually exposing the individual to their feared object or situation while preventing them from engaging in their usual compulsive behaviors, leading to a reduction in symptoms.

Roots and Streams currently accepts the following insurances: Blue Cross Blue Shield Aetna Montana Co-op First Choice Health Allegiance/Cigna

For individuals who are uninsured or underinsured, sliding fee scale, may be available. This flexible payment arrangement ensures that therapy remains accessible and affordable.

We believe that financial limitations should not be a barrier to receiving mental health care.
